Flat Stanley from Mrs. Marsh’s 2nd grade classroom attended the canonization of Blessed Mother Theodore Guerin in Rome in October, 2006, with Mr. Erlenbaugh.

Blessed Mother Theodore Guerin, founder of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary of the Woods was canonized as Saint Theodora Guerin — the patron saint of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.

Oh, those goofy 8th grade students.  It was a special Halloween spook day for our kids … all dressed up and no where to go!

Art students from all grades helped the Indianapolis Department of Public Works paint snowplow blades for the winter season.  Thanks to Miss Lehner and her crew for helping students express their creativity to the public.

Saints they are, saints they can be … here’s a small sampling of our annual 4th grade All Saints’ Day Mass participants.  Each student prepared a report on their chosen saint and appeared at Mass dressed as their chosen saint.

Saint Nicholas visited school and parish children in December to remind them about the true meaning of Christmas …  the birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior.

It’s better to give than to receive.  Sixth grade students purchased and wrapped Christmas presents for needy families through a service project for Riley Children’s Hospital.

Building community throughout the school, second grade students meet often with kindergarten students to share projects, books, attend Mass together, and make new friends.

Christmas carolers from 3S, 3H, 8M, and 8W homerooms presented music concerts to the elderly at local health care facilities recently.  This has been an annual event for our 3rd and 8th grade students for the past five years.

SMS Students Honored at Indianapolis Colts Game

SMS proudly acknowledges the achievement of all our students.  Pictured here are five of six students at SMS that received the distinguished “Presidential Physical Fitness Award.”

The Indianapolis Colts recognized our students, too, for their achievement in physical fitness at the Miami Dolphins / Colts game at the RCA Dome.

Our own Irish Dancers performed along with other dancers for an assembly on Saint Patrick’s Day (actually the day before).  We are proud of all our performers.  The troupe appeared at the annual Indianapolis SPD Parade and various other schools in the area.

SMS choir students along with their music teacher, Miss Murrell, performed along with nearly 125 other vocal students from the North Deanery at the annual Bishop Chatard High School / Saint Luke School workshop.  Students spent the day with a voice coach from the Indianapolis Children’s Choir to prepare for the event..

We bid a fond farewell and Godspeed to our graduating class of 2007.  Students were graduated during an evening Mass on May 23, 2007.
